I think it's hard for some people to understand why other people would choose to be poor.
And so it must be that people who choose to get a PhD come from means.
- xanderlewis 2y agoWhen the choice is between being (perhaps, somewhat) money-poor and being intellectually poor, it's easy to understand. But not everyone is wired that way.
