Not going to lie, I was hoping for something more insightful there.
- gardenhedge 2y agoI guess it was a talk for juniors/graduates. I learned about https://deps.dev https://deps.dev though which seems useful.
- tsss 2y agoIt's Rob Pike... It would be wrong to expect anything different.
- locallost 2y agoI've read some of his articles and watched some talks, and while sometimes his presentation is not really my style, I would say it's always if not though provoking, then clear, insightful, making a valid case for his opinion, while not repeating the same noise you hear everywhere else.
- gregjor 2y agoI envy his resume and accomplishments too. Especially since we started programming at about the same time, back in the stone age of mainframes.
- gregjor 2y agoMaybe not insightful to some, but I know from experience that plenty of people working as programmers do not think about this. It helps to remind them. Unfortunately the Venn diagram of programmers who might benefit from this information and those who know about or read Rob Pike's articles probably looks pretty sparse.
- internet_points 2y agoEat real food. Not too much. Mostly plants. Easy rules that are hard to follow :)
