Why are there so many of these exact kind of posts lately? I swear I’ve seen 10 posts in the last month with some variation on “I use less technology to do X than the next guy”. It might be noteworthy if the author had an interesting problem to tackle, previously used a convoluted stack to accomplish it but then stripped it down to basics - but no, this is just “I wrote HTML to make a website”. I’d rather read “I used a hammer to hit a nail”.
