- cratermoon 2y agoAre you implying they should be given more time? More time to dismantle programs claiming fraud without finding any?
- sys32768 2y agoThere's plenty of waste and fraud, as there was under Trump's first term and Biden's. https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2024/12/17/waste_of_the_day_another_161_billion_lost_to_improper_payments_1078776.html https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2024/12/17/...
- yostrovs 2y agoMany do not acknowledge this and seem to believe our government runs like a well oiled machine. It's as though they never had to actually deal with the bureaucracy and never noticed anything odd.
- cratermoon 2y agoNo one is claiming there's no waste and fraud, that exists in any large organization. As the article notes, the efforts so far don't seem to have demonstrably found and eliminated it. "they seem to be using very nonspecific and unsubstantiated allegations of fraud to justify a massive overhaul of specific government agencies. "
- insane_dreamer 2y agoOf course. And that's why there are investigations and also Inspector Generals to watch for this stuff. (Except those guys just got fired.) Investigating and fixing instances of fraud is one thing -- and a good thing. Axing departments and firing a bunch of people based on ideology (DOE, USAID) or retribution (DOJ), or loyalty tests (OBM, etc.) has nothing to do with "fixing waste and fraud".
- daveguy 2y agoAnd who needs evidence before shutting stuff down anyway!
- insane_dreamer 2y agoSo ... shoot first and ask questions later?
