I think it's not supposed to be a pilot hole, but a hole to put a partially-threaded screw through.
- shaftway 2y agoI don't think the screw is biting into any material. You can see the screw drop pretty far into the hole. Keep in mind it isn't counter-sinking the hold at all. I think he's driving the screw into the substrate and setting it deep enough that it looks countersunk and isn't loose.
