I still remember when I first signed up for LinkedIn years ago on my phone. Following the default flow and not paying much attention, it sent connection invitations to seemingly everyone I'd ever had gmail correspondence with. Sure it's my fault for not paying attention, but what kind of default is that?

  LinkedIn was doing this long before MS bought them. Abusing your contact list is their specialty and one of the ways they grew so quickly.
