48 months for swatting is a very good deal for him. He is lucky no one got killed by his actions. But at the same time 48 months is an extremely harsh sentence to get for this guy. Hopefully it is enough time for him to realize he does not want to go back. But if you look at his picture it is very obvious he will not do well at all in an LA prison. He will be preyed upon day one. He will probably have to be put into PC and depending on the prison or conditions will still have issues. So anyone thinking 48 months is too short ya maybe, thankfully no one got killed, but it will be a very painful torturous 48 months on this guy.
- throwup238 2y agoIt’s a federal prosecution by the DoJ. With 48 months as a nonviolent offender*, he can get sent to minimum security federal prison without so much as fences. Possibly even do a work release during the day where he gets to leave to go to a real job. * I don’t remember if the final plea deal charges are nonviolent but any decent lawyer would have made sure about that
- 14 2y agoI tried to find details about where he was sent and could not find anything. I have no idea where one could look up official records and see that I just did a google search and every single article was just copy paste the same. He should hope he got what you said. But looking at the facts he made over 375 swatting calls. He did bomb threats for hire, he made threats of school mass shootings, he called the police and claimed to have killed an officers mom and threatened to kill anyone who responded, he claimed to have assault rifles and pipe bombs and other weapons common in school shootings, he caused multiple agencies in multiple states such as the FBI, secret service, multiple police departments and others to name a few to respond to fake threats and waste time and cost money also preventing them to respond to other issues that may have happened. In the end from what I can find he was extradited to Florida, as he made some threats there, and was extradited a year or so ago. I am certain any lawyer could argue given all he has done he is a serious threat to society and a dangerous offender. But he was only 17 at the time of most offenses so maybe he got some leniency. Not that I think his age was an excuse, ya at 17 I was an idiot and definitely was not mature but definitely knew something like this was absolutely dumb to do. I have to wonder how a kid gets to that point. So many questions. I hope he can get on a new path in life and change.
