The US worked with all printer manufacturers to add watermarking. In theory they could work with fabs or service providers to embed instruction detection, , similar to how hosting providers do mining instruction detection.
- bee_rider 2y agoA lot of AI tools are just basic linear algebra functions used cleverly. If I need a license to do a matvec I will go become a pig farmer instead.

- bee_rider 2y agoI mean, mining involves matvecs of course, https://sparse.tamu.edu/GHS_indef/tuma2 https://sparse.tamu.edu/GHS_indef/tuma2 but I think there are a bunch of additional steps as well, they need to pick up rocks and carry them to the surface or something.
- talldayo 2y agoAnd now counterfeiters import their printers from Temu. If China wanted a domestic training cluster they could make one, maybe not as well as Nvidia but they could certainly make one.
