Things I’m loving about derbyjs
- stuffihavemade 14y agoAlso, the conflict resolution library (https://github.com/codeparty/racer https://github.com/codeparty/racer) that is used looks to be very cool.
- lefnire 14y agovs. Meteor, Derby has server-side rendering (need REST?) and uses NPM.
- avstraliitski 14y agoEww. I can't believe you used a non-word with such corporate origins! Down with McVerbiage. ('Loving' is an adjective or 'describing word'. 'Love' is a verb or 'doing word'. Therefore "6 things I love about derbyjs" is correct, and "Her partner is very loving." is also correct. What you have written is glaringly incorrect. However, abuse of the real and imagined present continuous verb form - that is, *ing words - is wildly popular in parts of the Indian population.)
- lukifer 14y agoDerby is absolutely amazing, but when I tried to build something with it 6+ months ago, I was stymied by the complete lack of authentication features. The majority of apps (and games) require the ability to show one user X+Y and another user Y+Z, and it seems like a ludicrous oversight. Looking now, I see a vague reference to server-side logic (in the context of recommending against it!), but nothing about auth specifically. Has anything changed or improved on this front, or are there any plans to do so?
- norviller 14y agoI believe that auth is in Derby, although it has just yet to be documented formally...
- nateps 14y agoThis is correct. We have been developing and testing auth with our own app, and we'll publish a simple example using it soon.
- jlogsdon 14y agoOnly because I'm the nitpicky type... > The majority of apps (and games) require the ability to show one user X+Y and another user Y+Z That's authorization, not authentication.
- lukifer 14y agoGood catch, you are technically correct (the best kind of correct).
