I'd say that you are doing exactly what many of the submissions did in 87 with regards to the AIDS pandemic - taking something at the top of its influence curve and incorrectly assuming that to only be the beginning of said curve. In essence, overstating a trend because you are in the middle of participating in it. There is nothing overly dramatic about this economic cycle than any other down cycle. It's certainly nowhere close to previous cycles.
