If you're not willing to move sounds like your economic situation isn't that bad.
- yellowapple 2y agoOr, as I just explained above, your economic situation is so bad that you outright can't afford it unless you're desperate enough to walk however many hundreds of miles required.

(Well, I guess or letting them starve.) If someone insists on staying where they are and not upskilling, either because they can't or won't, they're implicitly demanding a subsidy.
- yellowapple 2y agoA subsidy would indeed be a huge help, and I'm all for it.
- zeroCalories 2y agoI could be a million dollars in debt, disabled, with kids, and still find a way to move. Sorry but I don't buy it that you're ever too poor to move. I think people just don't want to make the sacrifices necessary for it.
- ty6853 2y agoCan be tough if parenting is shared. You'll probably have to see a judge and if the other parent won't agree they'll just award them custody and now there is a warrant for your arrest because you missed payments while hitchhiking to some far away place with jobs. Otherwise yeah easy problem to solve, there is always a train or car you can ride on.
