Peter Thiel's Apocalypse Dreams
- fullshark 2y agoThe oped is available to read, seems more interesting to me than this guy's commentary on it https://www.ft.com/content/a46cb128-1f74-4621-ab0b-242a76583105?ref=thenerdreich.com https://www.ft.com/content/a46cb128-1f74-4621-ab0b-242a76583... Thiel backed seasteading among other wacky ideas. His editorial saying we have a ruling class with secrets that would horrify us, and has largely done a bad job is not that out there for him.

He is a very strange individual.
- pentel-0_5 2y agoYep. Utopian crazy who can't grasp the ideas or value of government, commonwealth, or regulations except as "red tape" and "waste". They literally believe in anarcho-capitalist libertarianism with extra anarchy will magically be a wonderful world, perhaps for them.
- wewxjfq 2y agoWhen Obama roasted Trump at the Gridiron Club dinner, one of his jokes was: "Now that I've published my birth certificate, Donald can focus on the more important questions, like was the moon landing real." Thiel's op-ed reminded me of that joke.
