When looking at the sheer amount of money and power concentrated in the US government it doesn't make a lot of sense that the elections are consistently free of fraud. It is a bit like the weird jump in scandals out of politics between the pre-internet era and now. It turns out that the press just didn't report on a lot of things. Voter fraud will be similar, as the data becomes more public and people start coordinating more effectively a lot of dross is probably going to get turned up.
