Show HN: Stock Analysis Feels Broken – Here's My Take on Fixing It
Stock analysis tools are powerful, but I’ve always run into three challenges:
1/ Too much data, hard to digest – Plenty of insights, but filtering what truly matters is time-consuming.
2/ No clear buy/sell decisions – You get the data, but figuring out what to do next is missing.
3/ No way to build a personal strategy – Most tools use preset metrics, but does not help to invest your own way.
As a result, I often fall back on stock price and following others' opinions—not ideal.
So, I built https://stoclear.com/ https://stoclear.com/ (v0) to simplify key data, let you set your own rules, and turn them into buy/sell/hold decisions.
Would this actually help investors, or am I just solving my own problem?
Curious to hear from you:
Which of these challenges resonate with you?
What do you find useful, confusing, or missing?
- stogot 2y agoI like it. A question and an idea: Where do you get the goals from for the qualities etc at the bottom? And I like the bar graphs of returns over the past x, y, z months/years. One suggestion is to list its biggest drops/gains or volatility
- hlmaker 2y agoThanks for the GREAT inputs! The default goals come from a mix of personal experience and general industry consensus. They’re designed to work as a starting point, but I understand they may not suit everyone. That’s why I made them customizable to fit individual preferences. On the returns graph, I’d love to understand more—why do you find tracking the biggest drops/gains important? Is it to assess risk, or does it serve another purpose for you? Overall What’s the biggest challenge you face when evaluating stocks? What’s the one feature or piece of information you wish Stoclear provided that it doesn’t yet?
