It's good if you want to paint it as a tantrum, but if they're racist, then the more parsimonious source of their anger would be how, against their wishes, the US adopted immigration and social policies that changed the country from 87.5% white in 1970 [1], to minority white among children in 2019 [2]. I guess "racists are angry because what they value is being subverted" is too obvious to generate many clicks - it's true for any group.
