I'm burnt out and have also had terrible work environments. I'm just staying in the corporate grind because I don't see a better option. Just go to my soul sucking job 5 days a week and get told lies by management.
- scarface_74 2y agoHow is that burning you out? Treat your job as a transaction. You trade your 40 hours of labor for money and go home and leave your live your life. Because of - life - I also don’t see myself retiring until I’m 65 in 15 years. But, I’m okay with that. I work remotely, I wake up in the morning, open my computer, do my job and close it at night. I was able to “retire my wife” when she was 44 and I was 46 so we could travel extensively - of course after Covid lifted.

I'm like OP who don't enjoy interacting with my fellow workers other than strictly work affairs. I have to go to the office 3 times a week. We have on calls which every one gets twice per month, once as backup and once as primary. Neither do I have enough savings to retire anyone. I also have a kid so I can't just quit and find a new job. I sleep 4-6 hours every night to burn on side projects hoping I can get a new job. It really depends. Some people faired better and some faired worse.
