- talldayo 2y agoHere's Apple documenting the end-to-end encryption scheme for retrieving Push Notifications: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/usernotifications/establishing-a-token-based-connection-to-apns https://developer.apple.com/documentation/usernotifications/... Here's Apple admitting that they just bugged the Push Notification server so the NSA could read them without MITMing anything: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/12/apple-admits-to-secretly-giving-governments-push-notification-data/ https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/12/apple-admits-to-... Suffice to say, they don't even have to backdoor the encryption to give the UK what they want. iOS users are like fish in a barrel, if you force some insecure paradigm on them they can either adopt it or leave.
