Musk's move fast and break things mantra won't work in US.gov
- deleted 2y ago[deleted]
- silexia 2y agoPeople said Musk's style would not work at Twitter, but he was able to cut 90% of the headcount and improve the product. America voted democratically for Trump, who promised to reduce government waste and fraud and corruption - and that is exactly what is going on.
- latexr 2y ago> and improve the product That is, at best, a highly subjective point of view. Considering the mass exodus of people and governments and company accounts, it’s hard to make the point everyone thinks Twitter has improved.
- silexia 2y agoThe far left cannot tolerate dissent, so they left. But Community Notes is the biggest improvement in social media I have ever seen.
- latexr 2y agoCommunity Notes, previously known as Birdwatch, was introduced in early 2021. https://blog.x.com/en_us/topics/product/2021/introducing-birdwatch-a-community-based-approach-to-misinformation https://blog.x.com/en_us/topics/product/2021/introducing-bir... The acquisition was in 2022. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquisition_of_Twitter_by_Elon_Musk https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquisition_of_Twitter_by_Elon... In other words, your one example of Musk improving Twitter wasn’t even his initiative.
- anon2549 2y agoTwitter is much worse than it used to be. Trump is certainly not reducing waste and corruption. He's reallocating the waste to better benefit his cronies, and he's filled the government with corrupt people who are working for their own benefit at the expense of the citizenry.
- lawn 2y ago> and improve the product He gave a platform for conspiracy theorists and fascists, so they're probably happy. But for everyone else it turned into shit.
- latexr 2y ago> won't work Won’t work for whom? > Musk has since gained unprecedented power over the United States for an unelected person. Seems to be working pretty well for him, then. Why do you assume he cares about anyone else? > The government moves more like Star Trek's Lower Decks Cerritos on a bad day. > If you've watched the show Have you? Because the one thing that is absolutely clear from it is that every member of that crew cared for it to succeed as a whole, and worked together for the greater good. It was nothing like the US government. The Cerritos on its worse day was miles ahead the US government on its best. > I think anyone can agree that while "move fast and break things" may work in technology No, we cannot. It doesn’t work in tech either if you care about anything other than a quick buck at the expense of everything else.
