Quora had some really good content when I first started using it (maybe 10 years ago). Some really interesting people at the top of their field would post thoughtful things there. Then after a couple of years I think it changed hands. The dark patterns started (hassling to install the app, hiding content if you weren't logged in, etc) and it all went downhill pretty quickly. I would guess that a lot of those posters migrated here, or to their respective branch on the SE network, or who knows where else
