Show HN: Femto – An AI Writing Assistant
Hi! I'm Adit, and I built Femto (www.tryfemto.com)
Femto's an AI writing assistant that aims to help people use AI to complement their writing. I kind of started this partly because I spent a ton of time in college writing up study guides for exams, but I also noticed that there were others out there with similar needs (via social media)
I launched it 3 days ago officially and its features include:
- Extracting Summaries from PDF files
- Creating Study Guides from lectures/class notes
- Organizing meeting minutes (reason: a market that I am trying to validate - young business professionals who are usually responsible for meeting minutes)
These features are currently available via the notes dashboard that the user sees after they sign up.
I have two other tools in works, but I've been trying to talk to users in-person to get some feedback
This is the first thing I have ever built with code (I do not know how to code, this was entirely built using AI), and I would really appreciate any and all feedback.
My current stack is Node.js, Typescript, React and Firebase.
I have a free tier for this (with rate limits), as well as paid tiers for users who might use this regularly. I definitely want to improve my offering so one of the features I've been looking into is creating quizzes and flashcards that can be generated for users after they process their notes.
Thank you for reading about my product, please let me know your thoughts in the comments

- aditshetty 2y agolol! there are some things I want to work on that I expect will be tech-heavy, so I figured I'd get my feet wet with this
- pmdulaney 2y agoGood for you. I'm just riding my anti-AI hobby horse. I suspect that the proliferation of AI is going to be a net negative for people who interact with it and depend on it consistently. But as a programmer it may be that you can't afford to ignore it.
