Definition 2: a sudden illegal, often violent, taking of government power, often by the army Musk is committing illegal acts, over a weekend, in taking government power by, at minimum, not being appointed and confirmed. This is a coup by the definition YOU provided.

  I thought we were talking about Trump? The 6th January capitol attack was an attempted coup, what's happening now is Gleichschaltung. Please read up on "Gleichschaltung" [1] if you think that's in any way or form less of an condemnation as "coup".     "Gleichschaltung" is literally just how the administrative coup was implemented in Nazi Germany. Just because you'd rather talk about the logistics of how to coup once you are already in power doesn't make it not a coup.
