MS is guilty of a bigger sin: violation of KISS. We don't want ads and AI on every screen. We don't want to subscribe to O365 to read email. Users want the same thing they've wanted since 1995: A hierarchical start menu, first-class backward compatibility for hardware and binary files, and the ability for corp to manage everything via AD domains. All this extra AI and subscription crap is exactly that.
