The fact that people are willing to pay more for AI features shows that consumer priorities are shifting and it's a good opportunity for Apple to increase its services revenue.
That being said as a Pixel phone user I'm still not sure what exactly is available for consumers vs. what was promised a year ago. I tried to look at my wife's impression of her iPhone 16 and Apple Intelligence and it seems nothing deeply changed on her workflows.
Some examples of workflows that I'm constantly using from flagship Android with Gemini Assistant:
- Circle to search to search for products on an image or a location
- Summarize youtube videos
- Summarize the page you're looking at on Chrome
- Create events on your calendar with multimodal input (could be a web page on Chrome or a photo with some event details like a gig poster or a letter with some appointment written into it)
From what I can see Apple is still not there yet almost a year after the first Apple Intelligence announcement.
