the lack of any backbone on large US tech is frightening.
- bell-cot 2y agoBut not as frightening as the seemingly-widespread expectation that corporations should serve as the "champions of the people", against the peoples' own elected government. In cases where huge corporations have managed to bend a government to their own will - how often has then worked out well for the ordinary people?
- nicce 2y agoI would also blame the structure of the current economy and publicly traded companies. What could Trump gang do that affects Valve in a similar way?
- basementcat 2y agoThey are beholden to their shareholders and perhaps there was pressure from major institutional investors to do this.
