Ask HN: How much should you trust your brain in solo indie dev?
Should you keep working on a game or app for a very long time, trusting that your brain will eventually figure out how it should work?
- al_borland 2y agoIt might help to clarify which part you haven’t figured out how it should work. Do you have an idea for a game mechanic, and you’re having trouble figuring out how to best implement it on the backend, or are you working on something cosmetically, hoping to eventually stumble across an interesting game mechanic? Maybe something else? Technical issues can be solved, but the lack of an actual game idea is a bigger issue, imo.
- amichail 2y agoThere are endless ways to fine tune a general game mechanic idea. You could try out variations forever.
