I worked with a guy who could solve a thorny software issue with a quick glance at a printout. Looking back, I wonder if it was the right printout. Not that it would have mattered. He spotted the problem instantly. It wasn’t the problem and we took a bit longer to spot it and fix it. Things got a lot better after he left. There’s a saying “I’ll see it when I believe it”
