Socialist policians want more regulation in order to protect consumers and citizens. A lot of socialist politicians never have worked in a real job producing anything, so it does not register on their radar that protecting consumer may harm businesses. For them businesses are magical factories of GDP run by evil business sharks that need to be kept in check and more regulations are better. Oh well. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
