Seems a bit overly complicated for a blog, no? Like there's a HUGE middle ground between like "blogging on pager" and "posts in Markdown using vim, generating HTML using Jekyll, and serving the content via a small web app in Go on Heroku."
I use AWS Amplify with JS - sometimes React, sometimes Svelte - (although there's plenty of alternatives) and you can easily make it this simple.
1. Write post in markdown.
2. Push to git.
Done: it will appear looking perfectly nice as a blog post. Basically only his first step: "write posts in Markdown using vim".
