This was one of the first things I encountered while dabbling in Zig. I spent a few hours digging through examples in the standard library and googling to see how you're supposed to pass a writer. My day job is with TypeScript, so "any" gives me some heartache, but it seems unwarranted because Zig verifies the correctness at compile time. I won't make any claims to really understand Zig yet, but it was enough to make me feel comfortable with continuing to learn it.
