  My guess is someone is trying to drive up there American airlines shares so they can unload them. I'm not sure why anyone would want to take over American airlines especially Delta. Because Delta's biggest thing is their customer service is far and away better than American airlines. That doesn't mean that it's perfect that doesn't even mean that it's great It just means that in a relative sense to United and American it's a lot better. No acquisition is going to change the attitude of the people working there. Especially acquiring something so large means that it's likely to infect the attitude of your current people. But considering over the last year American airlines has only gone up by 20% or less in value and delta is up like 75%. Absolutely people want to pump the stock so they can get out of it.
