It's an impressive turnaround for a company regarded to be face-down in the water and 10 years behind the cutting edge. It's a shame Intel capitulated to the fear & greed and fired him. You can't fix an Intel-sized problem overnight, and pretty much all of Pat's suggestions were level-headed remediation of pretty obvious mistakes.
