The poster is located in the Netherlands, which may have entirely different AppleCare+ T&C versus the States. The quoted contract indicates “handling” as a qualifier for the cause of accidental damage. I can’t quite tell, but I assume that it means coverage would only apply if you were holding it and dropped it (i.e. not if it was stored/stowed). Not a lawyer either, but I did watch Better Call Saul.

While one obviously shouldn’t learn the law from a fictional TV show, Better Call Saul does take good attention to detail to get things right.
