Renewables are already 30% of world energy generation and growing rapidly: a quick google says that 86% (!!!) of new capacity is renewable. This part of the climate puzzle is effectively already solved, and didn't need nuclear. Transport fuel and combustion-based heavy industry are the hard nuts to crack, and reactors don't help there.
