Not saying this is a good thing - I don't agree with any of the EOs, I'm just wondering which if any affect science research.
- sega_sai 2y agoYes, I did scroll through the list of stopped federal programs (listed by NYT), and didn't see much science in my area at least (physics), but according to Terence it is clear that some things in STEM are stopped despite that.
- emu 2y agoThe uncertainty alone is already stopping people from making job offers this year in physics. Will the department of Energy keep funding fundamental physics research, for example? Will the NSF or NASA? No one knows. The rational response under these circumstances is to pull back on hiring.
