- GianFabien 2y agoAn extremely long winded apology trying to justify the fact that all social media is subsidized by advertisers and the platforms are operated to maximize that revenue source. We used to form communities via email lists. Not so long ago a good joke spread across the planet in a matter of an hour or so simply by using email. There are numerous forums that still operate on that basis. As long as the majority of people prefer FREE services, they will continue to be the fodder of advertisers and their lackeys.
