Usually it comes leadership direction. ie Where I live every large corporation must start each meeting with thanks and acknowledgments to the native tribes that lived on this land at some point. If the meeting organizer does not do that they might get in trouble with HR. Kinda hilarious when a 60 year old Russian lady tells these thanks to a room full of recent Indian and Chinese immigrants who have no conception of why any of this matters before proceeding with a 10 minute engineering meeting about pump capacity.
