The good thing is that Chinese models are dependent on open sourced US models. I wonder, will Meta's next models remain open source? Zuckerberg might change his mind. Who knows, maybe even US will dictate that no US model is allowed to be open sourced lol. I mean the restrictions but US government in AI have been crazy, especially the last ones by Biden administration.
