- grajaganDev 2y agoGoogle and Microsoft are bundling AI in office suites because nobody wants to pay for AI. >train better models Where will the training data come from? I don't think LMMs can generate quality training data.
- aurareturn 2y agoThey generate synthetic data using their best models. Then they train better models using that data. It's a cycle.
- grajaganDev 2y agoThis sounds like a perpetual motion machine.
- Jlagreen 2y agoWhat do you think ASI will be? We will only advance in AI if one day AI learns from itself otherwise we don't need AI. Because AI learning from itself at X times faster than humanity is the reason we want to get there in the first place.
- grajaganDev 2y agoThis sounds like hand waving to me. Can an AI pull itself up by yanking on its own bootstraps?
- rsynnott 2y agoIf LLMs were generally useful, this should likely hold true. If LLMs are a hype-driven bubble, then this shock may be enough to burst it.
- Jlagreen 2y agoYes, so Chinese did what they are best at, taking something working (foundational model which is free), copying it and improving it. Nothing special to see here. The good thing is that Chinese models are dependent on open sourced US models. I wonder, will Meta's next models remain open source? Zuckerberg might change his mind. Who knows, maybe even US will dictate that no US model is allowed to be open sourced lol. I mean the restrictions but US government in AI have been crazy, especially the last ones by Biden administration.
