- jiggawatts 2y agoThey have something like 2,500 tanks. The mechanical failure rate of heavy armoured vehicles is very high, of all models, in all militaries. Look up the maintenance hours per flight hour of a fighter jet!
- rasz 2y agoThat exactly what I thought in 2022, but alas Germany had around 2000 tanks in early nineties. Nowadays its tens of the 2A8 variant and under 300 other models https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_modern_equipment_of_the_German_Army#Main_Battle_tanks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_modern_equipment_of_th... There is high failure rate and there is just broken but nobody noticed because we never use them despite owning 350 and ordering next 200 batch. https://www.dw.com/en/puma-tanks-unusable-is-germanys-military-unfit-for-action/a-63955452 https://www.dw.com/en/puma-tanks-unusable-is-germanys-milita...
