He wants to leverage the power of the US as a mob boss to dictate favorable terms but this go around feels very different in terms of people no longer dealing with it. Tariffs can be useful in very specific scenarios but we generally don't produce any of the things we import from Colombia. So we eat higher prices, Colombia gets pissed off and trades with other countries and everything is a bit worse off. All for the sake of stupid posturing and harassing immigrants.
