I wrote this sentiment several years ago, but it was downvoted into oblivion with no chance for discourse. All of the signs, and US & ally weaknesses that allow for a lead-up, were out in plain sight.

  Good question. Seems pretty clear the new administration doesn't believe in such concepts.

  In essence, any nation that relies on the US for military protection or support. While I don’t agree with Trump’s methods (nor do I wish to see war), both the US and our allies have grown complacent. Some in Europe believe we have economy of scale in terms of military and output, but this belief is many decades out of date.
