- PaulHoule 2y agoOr just to have the Fit continued. Sorry Honda, I don't want an HR-V and that probably means my next car won't be a Honda. The discontinuation of the Fit goes to the heart of the gaslighting that consumers get from the car industry. Consumers definitely reject sedans, US consumers love hatchbacks, but mainly they get hatchbacks in the form of SUVs. Try to actually buy a compact hatchback and dealers have a large number of excuses like: "the factory washed out in a flood" and I say "how come you've got 100 SUVs that nobody wants sitting unsold in a row that are made in the same factory?" I'd just love to see an auto journalist stand up to it for once rather than parrot the line that the US consumer insists on SUVs like the brainwashed soldiers in The Manchurian Candidate.
