The same Trump that demanded an apology to a bishop for just exercising her own freedom of speech, in her own cathedral, totally in line with what she's supposed to say?
How inconsistent is this?
- krapp 2y agoDon't waste your time pointing out the hypocrisy of fascists. Incoherence and inconsistency are fundamental properties of fascist ideology[0]. Recall Karl Rove's quote about the "reality based community[1]." These people have constructed a hyperreality out of their own will to power. The only truth that matters is the truth of the party, whatever it happens to be at the moment. - taylodl 2y agoThe parent also shouldn't waste their time pointing out this order is superfluous and is purely symbolic. Meanwhile, I haven't seen anything that will lead to the reduction of egg or gas prices. In fact, both are going up.
- Juliate 2y agoI know. I'm not pointing it out to dismantle or explain the hypocrisy of fascists: I'm mocking it. Laughing in the face of their absurd behaviour is not a waste of time if you have fun doing it: it does trigger them if repeated, it does reveal the inconsistency on some naive followers sometimes, while it can recharge determination to put them down.
- Finnucane 2y agoIt would only be inconsistent if there were any real desire to protect the First Amendment, and not to destroy it.
