I recently noticed that entities can be tagged/labeled in Home Assistant, and then selected on those (I use auto-entities). Instead of relying on a brittle naming convention, I can tag devices as 'rgb_led' or 'humidity' and then target all of those. Entities' naming can now be more natural and intuitive.
