I have nowhere near that many devices, but I have been adding them over the last decade. Everything in my house works as a dumb device as well -- push the switch, light turns on or turns off. To me, though, the value is that I can turn those devices on / off from whatever logic I desire. On a lot of them I can gather power consumption which helps me to understand how much energy I use and where it goes.
