It hopefully won't come to that but things are starting to get pretty scary. It's slowly becoming illegal to be trans. I have friends that moved away from Florida because it's effectively illegal to get hormone therapy for adults. I'm generally perceived as a woman and have weird men hit on me or even follow me home and there are states where I could go to jail if I use the women's room. This hasn't happened yet but some red states are trying to make it illegal for me to wear women's clothing. Most of the trans women I know have been threatened or harassed on public. I live in CA and have had this happen to me multiple times. I don't think there will be a formal government purge but I'd bet money that we'll see an uptick in random violence directed at us in the next 4 years.
