- Cumpiler69 2y agoWTF are you on about? Intel has always shipped Linux kernel drivers for their chips out of the box. I swear HN is full of trolls.
- 1oooqooq 2y agoi meant the intel gpus, wich lead linux crashs for decades because of the gabage they released for consumer igpu.
- zdw 2y agoUnlike nVidia, Intel ships open source drivers ahead of hardware release - for example, from: https://www.phoronix.com/review/intel-arc-b580-graphics-linux https://www.phoronix.com/review/intel-arc-b580-graphics-linu... , they provided: > open-source, upstream Linux support for the Intel Arc B580 Graphics at launch-time Other vendors do this as well - AMD's RDNA4 graphics support is also being upstreamed ahead of launch: https://www.phoronix.com/review/linux-611-features https://www.phoronix.com/review/linux-611-features
