Heck. I want to start a company to hire this person and people like them. I think what I would add to this is "I want to work for a company where people are given freedom to pursue experimental approaches if they produce a) faster, b) more stable or c) more maintainable code. We all should have some idea of why we're trying the new, latest cool thing other than 'I want experience with the new, latest cool thing on my resume.'" and "Everyone I work with (managers and co-workers) should be adults and take responsibility for their fuck-ups. In response I'll take responsibility for my fuck-ups. If someone says they have concerns, I'll listen to them. If I don't understand where they're coming from, I'll try harder to get it. In return, co-workers and management will do the same."
