From an employee perspective it varies greatly on what phase of life I’m in.
As a 20 something with little or no experience I’m more willing to burn myself out to get the experience and to climb a ladder rung or 2 early and ascending with the company.
As a 30-40+ something with a partner, young kids and a teen or two, I’m super less willing to do that. I’m more likely to be in a senior technical or management position. I’ve experienced the burnout, I’ve gotten the big grind to product launches out of my system and I’m looking for stability and lower risk investments for my time.
