Interesting list but note the footnote about the pages excluded from the list when they were mainly accessed by mobile devices:
>> Pages with over 94% or under 10% (including everything with "XXX" or "XXXX") of mobile views. This threshold excludes 2024 Indian Premier League, Indian Premier League and Alia Bhatt, but even if Internet in India is mostly through mobile devices, we need to be pragmatic.
Not sure what is meant by ‘being pragmatic’ but seems a bit skewed to mostly ignore these pages.
- rsynnott 2y agoYeah, I assume they're trying to exclude outlier/inauthentic activity, but for things of regional interest, you're going to get differing access patterns.
- frantathefranta 2y agoI use the "Most Popular Wikipedia Article Today" widget on my iPhone and all of those 3 were featured multiple times. Feels like lot of the mobile views are from people clicking on these articles just to see what's up (usually things are trending due to someone dying or a scandal). Still I'd think it should count.
